Core Activities

Core activities of the CARD are pertaining to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) by UN.
They are SDG # 1 Termination of Poverty
SDG # 2 Food and Nutritional Security, Sustainable Agriculture
SDG # 5 Empowering women and acquiring gender equality
SDG # 8 Inclusive and Sustainable economic development, complete and productive employment and better work for all
SDG # 13 Immediate action to deal with climate change and its effects
SDG # 15 Biodiversity conservation

We are achieving these SDG by performing following task:

  • Institutional Capacity Building: Conducting meetings, trainings, demonstrations, exposure visits by organizing them into the various groups.
  • Improve the livelihood and market linkages: Various skill building in farming and allied enterprises, link the produce to the industry or end users by aggregation.
  • Natural Resource Management: Implementation of soil and water conservation methods to improve and maintain soil fertility and retention of soil moisture.
  • Woman Empowerment: Woman comprises of half of the work force and performing more activities at household and farm level. We organize them into groups, improve their financial literacy and book keeping and link them with microfinance to ease their life.

★ Microfinance - Nab finance, SBI
★ Biodiversity – Conservation of Medicinal and Tree Borne Oilseed Plants, Gaur Gum, Bamboo Plantation
★ Crop certification – Cotton (BCP), Soybean (RTRS), Organic Farming, Good Agriculture Practices (GAP)
★ Geographical Indexing - Rainfed Chickpea grown in Saline tract and Long pepper grown in West Vidarbha region.
★ Crop Improvement program – Ginger, Turmeric, Sandal wood, Jack fruit, Dragon fruit, Banana, Safed Musali.
★ Technology Awareness Program – Integrated pest management, Farmers field school, Pheromone traps, Biochar, Soil & Water Conservation Program.
★ Institutional formation – Formation of FPO and SHG.
